Rally Racer is the successor of Rally Rac3r. The difference? This Rear Wheel Drive race car is a tremendous success. As complimented by Karl4123, this vehicle has “sleek and stylish looks.” It is geared up 36:12 or 3:1, and it is decently quick with decent torque. Many styling cues have been added. Why is there no InfraRed Sensor, you may ask! Well, thank you for asking! With the help of Builderdude35’s tutorials, Rally Racer drives via Bluetooth! Rally Racer’s Intelligent Brick acts as a receiver, and a second Ev3 Intelligent Brick is the remote! In this way, I am able to control Rally Racer from 200 feet away. I also incorporated bluetooth RC into prototype versions of my 2010 Cadillac CTS-V Replica. Continue reading
I modified the 42029 Lego Technic Customized Pickup Truck and ended up with this nice-looking truck that is still functional.
The smoke stacks have been replaced with a dual exhaust system. Continue reading
The original Aero Racer featured a dual motor setup. This is a completely overhauled pullback racer with three hard-coupled pullback motors. Combine that with large tires, and it makes for a superb setup for more than adequate torque and speed and exceptional distance run. Features flex axles and (non-functional) V8 piston engine.
My latest addition to my MINDSTORMS and Technic collection: 42029 Lego Technic Custom Pickup Truck. Stay tuned for a review!
Lego Mindstorms Ev3 Intelligent Bricks communicate over 190 feet through Bluetooth! Go behind the scenes with my 2010 Cadillac CTS-V Replica, CTS-eV3!
Special thanks to Builderdude35 for his Bluetooth tutorials!
CTS-eV3 is a Lego replica of the 2010 Cadillac CTS-V. With Rear Wheel Drive, lots of speed, and more than adequate torque, this motorized creation is like the real car. Having been over half a year in the making, there has been many trial-and-errors (including chassis, drivetrain, and exterior redesigns). But I am quite satisfied with the final outcome! CTS-eV3 has a 4.5:1 gear ratio (minus the differential), accomplished by driving a 36 tooth gear meshed with an 8 tooth gear in a unique setup. Actual speed is a few tenths under 4 Kph! This two door coupe has been relatively replicated, including the visible V8 piston engine along with the Corvette inspired supercharger! Continue reading
42026 Lego Technic Black Champion Racer clone, kept as close to the original model as possible. Different color scheme, uses pieces mostly from 31313 Mindstorms Ev3 Retail Set and 42000 Technic Grand Prix Racer. NOTE: Tires have a slightly larger diameter. Continue reading
Just a short, little video showcasing my modified 42026 Lego Technic Black Champion Racer. I replaced the street tires with balloon tires to convert it into an off road version, and I had to reposition the panels to fit the larger tires (look closely on the front and sides). In my opinion, it looks better with the panels relocated anyhow. And sorry to those who like the original model with stickers… this has no stickers. Acceleration is a little slower than the original, but top speed is a plus!
After a bit of an absence, I am back with a technically failed project. Rally Rac3r was built to be very fast with its 9:1 gear ratio, but the resulting low torque prevented reaching top speed in little time. It features exhaust pipes, opening gulling doors, rally-worthy lights along with accessory roof lights, rear spoiler, return to center steering with gear rack, smooth flowing aerodynamics, and more.
